Baby #2: 20 Weeks

Well little baby, we found out you were a boy!!! We are still trying to figure out a good name for you. We pinned down a first name but we are still trying to figure out which middle name will suit you best. At least we still have another 20ish weeks to figure that out for sure.

I am convinced though, that you hate me most days. Even though it is getting better, I have had so many GI issues from the very beginning. I have been taking some probiotics though and that seems to be helping :) My incessant need to eat with you is even worse than with Trenton too! That I did not think was possible. I have to eat anywhere from every 20 minutes to ever 1.5 hours or else I get sick. It's pretty ridiculous!

I've been feeling you move since around 16 weeks! It never ceases to amaze me how spectacular pregnancy is when you feel your baby move. It is a magical thing. You are an active little guy, just like your brother. At 17 weeks we had our gender ultrasound and we saw you moving around all over the place. We even saw you stretch. It was the cutest thing! You keep your hands up by your head just like your brother too :) We were able to have a live video stream to the family in Bakersfield and Alaska during our ultrasound so most everyone got to find out if you were a boy or a girl at the same time as us! Technology is an amazing thing. Which is funny thinking that in the 20-something years from now that you will be reading this, technology will be so much more advanced that you will consider this technology "ancient", I'm sure.

At my last appointment I found out that my iron levels are looking great, which is fantastic news because around this time with Trenton I had to start taking iron supplements. I was also told that the reason I have been so dizzy this pregnancy was because of my low blood pressure. I have had low blood pressure since my first appointment which is odd for me, but the midwives weren't concerned. She said it would start improving soon and I have already felt an improvement the past week or so.

One sad thing that happened this month is that I officially cannot lay on my stomach to sleep anymore :( I have fully enjoyed being able to do that again. And now it is gone....

I have realized that I have taken you and Trenton for granted, way too much. Daddy and I have been so blessed to be able to get pregnant so easily. There are so many people who struggle with infertility on all different levels and I can not imagine the pain and heartache they go through. I want to make sure i love you both whole heartedly and cherish every moment, good and bad, because it can be gone too quickly.

We also had another ultrasound appointment this week. It was really at 21 weeks instead of 20 but that's okay. You're measurements were kind of all over the place, so that didn't help pin down my due date. You are due anywhere between October 15 and October 21. My midwife said we will just stick to the 21st for the "official" date though. Even though of course, you will come whenever you are ready...! One thing that showed up in the ultrasound was my uterus was close to my cervix; on the very low end of "normal". I may have to have another ultrasound later to make sure it's all okay, but right now, she is confident that as my uterus grows, it will move further away from my cervix. I'm not sure exactly what that means if it doesn't though. She wouldn't tell me and I'm afraid to ask Dr. Google and get more information than I bargain for!

We did get a CD of all your ultrasound pictures, but you were moving SO much that they aren't really that good :( I didn't think it was possible to be even more active than Trenton was, but you are! And frankly, that scares me considering how crazy your brother is :) You also kept kicking the midwife when she was trying to listen to your heartbeat on the doppler later. You apparently don't like people messing with you.

These are our Gender Reveal Photos and how we announced it to the world of Facebook

These were the best photos we have of your 21 week ultrasound. Not the greatest, but still neat to see you!
