Trenton: You're a Big Brother!!

Trenton,

You are a big brother!!! The day before Tucker was born you started another round of your mysterious fevers, so unfortunately you weren't able to come visit us in the hospital. But you did get to spend some good time with Gi-Gi and Pimpa, and spend more time at daycare, which you love! Monday your fever actually went away, surprisingly, but then came back again (side note: this time was different thankfully, and more of a common virus because you didn't have to go to the hospital - yay! and you developed a cough after the 10 days of fevers). On Tuesday, when we came home from the hospital, Daddy dropped Tucker and I off at home then went to pick you up from daycare. When you got home, you didn't really care too much about me or the baby. I did try and get you to give Tucker the present you "got" him (a vibrating rattle), but you didn't really care. Then Tucker "gave" you his present and you had fun opening it. Then you really didn't care about anything else because you got five new Hot Wheels cars, a ball, and some play-doh. We really lost you when Daddy opened up the Lightning McQueen motorized car he bought you :)

After awhile though, you finally took some interest in your baby brother. You got up on the couch and were so excited to hold him! It was the cutest thing. And since then, you love holding your baby :) You are such a good brother too! You try and give him his binkies (after you have used them yourself of course!), push him in his swing (we are working on being more gentle there), and you even try sharing your cars with him! Then get upset when he doesn't grab them from you. But that's okay, because you just wait until the day he takes your toys and you don't want him to!

Whenever Gi-Gi comes over, that is when you seem to get jealous. You will reach out and ask for Baby, but then immediately try shoving him toward her and say "Gi-Gi". Since you have been sick since Tucker was born, I have had to do more than I probably should just because you want nothing to do with Daddy when you are sick :( I hope you outgrow that, because he really wants to take care of you and love on you too!

We are managing well as a family of four and so grateful that you and Tucker have been so good the past week and a half. I also can't believe that your next update will be your second birthday!!! My goodness, I can't believe you are going to be two years old soon....It is going to be a pretty big update I'm sure! We will have had Thanksgiving, got a visit from Aunt Stephanie, Christmas, moved to Omaha (more on that in a minute), celebrated New Year's in a new state, have Grandma Kathy spend two weeks with us, and then your birthday!

Now for Omaha. Mommy and Daddy accepted a position to become house parents to a group of teenagers! So pretty soon you will have 6-8 older "brothers" or "sisters". We are really excited about this new chapter in our lives and pray the transitions go well for everyone. It will definitely be a challenge for us all in so many ways, and there will be some negative influences on you and Tucker that I will not appreciate, but we will be able to show these kids what it means to be in a loving family and have '"parents" who love each other and love them.

I love you, little man. You are growing up to be such an amazing little boy and I am so glad I get to be the one who sees these changes daily.

I love you,

Mommy

Here are some pictures of you and Tucker!

Your daddy loves you both so much! This is one of my favorite pictures so far of the three of you :)

There is no denying you are brothers either. These pictures were from the day each of you were born
