Tucker: Three Months Old!

My sweet baby Tucker,

You are such a good baby and oh so smart! You are already trying to roll over and yesterday you rolled over three times in five minutes! I am definitely not ready for you to be mobile yet, so maybe it's a good thing we don't put you on the floor too much right now :)

You are always talking, smiling, and laughing; I have never heard such a tiny baby talk nearly as much as you do. It is so hard to have an adult conversation because you are always babbling away! I love it though. I am afraid for a year from now when we have two toddlers who talk all the time :)

You are becoming extremely ticklish and laugh when you are poked or tickled. Even if I blow into your bare feet, you think that is the funniest thing.

We put you in the door bouncer once and you liked it right away. You started spinning and pushing up on the floor. Unfortunately we are going to have to get a new type of bouncer because our house only has one door frame that it'll fit on and we can't have the door to our apartment open once we get teenagers.

The past few weeks while Daddy and I were in training, Grandma Kathy was here watching you and your brother. She became your favorite person and I got a little jealous there :) You would only fall asleep at night for Grandma. I don't know what it was, but you just loved sleeping on her the best. Trenton was also sick again so having Grandma here to take care of you both while we had to work was absolutely amazing and such a blessing. We were sad to have Grandma leave though and can't wait until we see her again.

We took you to our new Boys Town doctor with Trenton for a three month check up and to also get some medicine for you. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure you have reflux :( You spit up so much and soak through 2 or 3 burp rags a day. Poor baby. You also have had really bad eczema on your face, arms, and legs so we had to get a prescription for that since coconut oil, eczema lotion, and vaseline weren't cutting it. You've been on both those medications for a couple days now and so far they seem to be working! Your spitting up has calmed down some, though you still spit up a lot, and your skin has cleared up so well! We had to keep a sock on your hand all the time because you would always scratch your face from it itching so bad and it would bleed, but now you can be sock free! Which is great since you love to chew on your hands. Also at the doctor you weighed 15 lbs 3oz and are 25 1/4inches tall! Growing boy :)

I love you Tucker!

Trenton wanted to join in on the chew toy with you. You are a good share-er

I hope one day you will know what movie this came from. I got a kick out of my comparison photo here :)

You are infatuated with your brother and think he is so funny

My little baby is growing up so fast!

Trenton, You're TWO!!

Trenton,

It has been a BUSY past three months! Let's see...where to start? First of all your obsession with cars has grown ten-fold. Every time you see a car or truck in the store you think you need them all. Then of course cry about it when you don't get any. But with all your hundreds of cars you have at home, you love to line them all up in a row anywhere you can. There is always a parking lot on the coffee table, rug, couch, anywhere you see a "line" of some sort, you park your cars up perfectly. It's amazing really, at how perfect your lines are. You get so proud of yourself too :)

We finally got your nap time to where you go to sleep by yourself! That was a huge deal since you always had to be rocked to sleep then laid down in your bed. The only sad thing that seems to have come along with that for some reason is you all the sudden decided you don't want to read books before bed anymore. We need to figure out how to get you back into reading because I really want that to be an important part of your life as you grow up.

Aunt Stephanie came to visit right after Thanksgiving as well. You loved getting to know Aunt Stephanie a little better. She also brought Uncle Sean with her for us all the meet for the first time. He actually proposed to her the couple days before coming to see us! :) Stephanie bribed your love with cars though. You were kind of hesitant at first since you didn't really know them, but as soon as she gave you new cars, it was like she was your best friend.

SPEECH
Your speech has also skyrocketed, especially in the last few weeks. You say your name really well now too. Everything is Trenton's. Trenton's juice, Trenton's cars, Trenton's clicker, Trenton's everything. Glad you are doing so well on your possessive nouns :) Also sentences are becoming more and more part of your vocabulary. You are really good at repeating sentences with even 4 or 5 words, and you can come up with 2 or 3 word sentences on your own. You also call your brother "Cookie" instead of Tucker. I think it's because you can't say your "-er" words very well yet. It's adorable though. Also, Thank You and Please are main words in your vocabulary, even at the grocery store you say "thank you" to strangers. Glad we are doing something right in this parenting thing!

A few months ago Daddy got a bad cough again and it always sounds so horrible, so I started saying "yuck Daddy!" when he would cough and you were around. Mostly as a joke, but it did sound pretty gross too. And now every time Daddy coughs, even when it's a normal cough, you shout, "yuck Dada!" and of course I laugh, and Daddy gets mad at me :) You say it to anyone who coughs too. If Tucker coughs, it's "yuck Baby!".

TUCKER
Whenever you share your toys with Tucker and place your cars on his chest, you says "you're so sweet!" as you lay them down :) Things like "It's okay baby, don't be sad" are some things you say. Also you love to help burp Tucker and give him bottles when he gets pumped milk.

Sometimes we think you may love your brother a little too much. You are always wanting to kiss him! And it must be on his lips. It is very sweet and I love how much you love your brother, but sometimes it gets a bit excessive. I do hope you continue to love each other as you get older.

A few weeks before Tucker was born, you started wanting to nurse again. I let you a few times, but not that often. The day before Tucker was born, you started getting fevers again. Luckily we didn't have to go to the hospital and you kept up on your fluids pretty well. But then you developed a cough toward the end of that fever spell and it lingered for about seven weeks. Finally you were diagnosed with bronchitis and it started going away after that medicine. But boy oh boy are you HORRIBLE at taking medicine!! I've tried mixing it in ice cream, apple sauce, chocolate syrup...you are just too smart and somehow you know I've hidden medicine in your food.

MILESTONES
We've also been working on your numbers and you are doing so well! Your favorite numbers are two, three, five, and eight and you make sure to say those ones out loud; especially two.

You are starting to tell us when you go to the bathroom as well so that is  a huge improvement! I'm hoping in the next couple months, once we get settled in more, to start working on potty training. Hopefully that goes well when we do get there.

Something you really enjoy now is being forward facing in the car! We went to a car seat safety specialist who helped us make sure both your car seats were correct and because of Daddy's height and the types of car seats we have, she suggested turning you forward facing a few weeks early. I wanted to keep you rear facing longer than two years, but we had to do what was safest for everyone. The sad part is that it took you awhile to get used to it and wouldn't fall asleep for weeks in your car seat. Everything was just too cool and interesting I guess.

SILLY
You are your father's son for sure. You are always walking around with one sock on. It drives me crazy! And I'm pretty sure we've lost a few socks from you doing this around the house as well.

Terrible Twos have started as well! Here we go....the whining and tantrum throwing is getting pretty ridiculous!

Even though you haven't nursed in a while, whenever you are on my lap or in my arms you point to my chest and say "Trenton's?" Then when I say "no, Mommy's" you point to one side and say, "Baby's" then the other side and say "Trenton's". Apparently my body is no longer mine....silly boy.

CHRISTMAS
Christmas was a fun time of seeing extended family with food and fun. You are getting more and more sociable and actually playing with other people and wanting to go with others. It still takes a few minutes for you to warm up to people, but you eventually start playing and talking.

Santa came a day early to our house this year because he knew we needed to finish packing up the house in order to move. You really have no clue who Santa is still, but I tried talking him up a little bit this year in hopes that you wouldn't cry when we took pictures with Santa. Nope, you still cried. Hey, maybe one day! But at home you got some new cars and books, and a new Cars shirt. Of course you really didn't care about the clothes; cars are way cooler.

When we opened presents at Gi-Gi and Pimpa's house we made the mistake of letting you open a giant pack of new cars from Pimpa first. We lost you from then on and you didn't care about anything else but making your parking lots with all your new cars.

OUR NEW HOME!
So right after Christmas you, me, and Tucker all took a plane ride to Omaha! We made it but my goodness, was it difficult for me to lug everything through the Atlanta airport. It took us an hour just to get from the entrance to our gate. I was pushing two car seats, a car seat base, and the boppy all on the snap n' go stroller then I was wearing Tucker and pulling a suitcase in the other hand. I had to suck it up and buy you one of those toddler harnesses for you though since I had no idea what I would do if you decided to run off while in the airport. I was ashamed and hated the murmured talks I heard behind me, but hey, it was for my sanity. Thankfully you stayed right by the stroller the entire time anyways. Luckily the flight attendants and some of the passengers were wonderful and helped me with everything. And you were perfect on the plane ride as well.

We made it to Omaha though with snow on the ground. Of course the coldest day of the year was the next day and boy oh boy was it cold!! Luckily Grandma Kathy came to help us unpack and watch you and Tucker while Daddy and I spent two weeks in training. You LOVE your Grandma! You can't say grandma though so you call her Mee-ma. And go around the house yelling, "Meeee-maaaa!" all day long.

Unfortunately you got another bought of fevers during our training though :( Good news this one only lasted nine days instead of ten! We ended up going to the ER one night because you threw up and it wasn't like any other vomit you've had before so we decided to go in. Of course they said it was "just a virus". One day during this round of fevers, you were sitting on my lap and all the sudden you stared past me and had a really confused look on your face. I said your name multiple times and you didn't move a muscle. Finally you looked at me but you still had that confused look on your face, like you didn't know who I was or something, then you looked past me again. You finally snapped out of it after Grandma's phone went off. It seemed like a seizure to me after I thought about it more, which scares me, but you haven't had another incident like that again. You do have a doctor's appointment soon and I will definitely be bringing that up as a precaution. We are so very grateful for Grandma being here though. If she wasn't here then we wouldn't have been able to finish training. She has helped so much with the both of you and we don't want her to leave!

YOUR TWO YEARS OLD!
Daddy and I actually had to work on your birthday but only in the morning. We spent the evening at home as a family, and Grandma was there too still. We had Five Guys and made brownies :) We didn't do much else for your birthday this year since it has been a crazy past couple weeks, but that's okay, you won't remember it anyways. Next year we will probably do something a little more fun for you since you will be more likely to remember it. On Friday we went to the car show! You were in heaven. So many cars for you to touch and play in! You'd see in one car and then immediately run over to the next one you see. You had so much fun!

At your two year check up at our new Boys Town doctor, you weighed 28 lbs (you have actually been 28 pounds since your one year check up), and you are 33 1/2 inches tall. For weight you are in the 58th percentile and for height in the 34th percentile. You had to get your finger pricked to check your iron and lead levels and you were telling us all about your "owie" the rest of the day.

Happy Thanksgiving from these two goofballs!

We went on the ferris wheel with Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Sean

We are ready to fly! Of course you were mad when taking this picture

 Daddy loves :)

Merry Christmas! We actually "rewrapped" a present that you got when Tucker was born but we hid it for a few weeks :)

On the plane and ready to go! You didn't like the window open though

Tucker: 2 Months Old

Tucker,

A LOT has happened in the past month! You had your first Thanksgiving. We spent the day with extended family but I didn't let anyone hold you since you were still sick from bronchiolitis and still so young. You slept pretty much the entire time anyways. On Saturday we had Thanksgiving over at Gi-Gi and Pimpa's house. They got some good cuddles in with you. Sunday is when Auntie Stephanie and Uncle Sean came to visit as well. They got to meet you for the first time! Uncle Sean actually proposed to Stephanie over the weekend so we were all excited to welcome Sean to the family.  While they were in town we went on the ferris wheel downtown, the World of Coke, wedding dress shopping for Stephanie, and the Christmas tree lighting in Smyrna. It was a busy few days! But you got to spend some good time with Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Sean.

You are talking more and more and its so adorable! Hopefully one day we can get a good video of it. You also always have your tongue sticking out. You are getting to be a silly boy :) You are a very content little boy and hardly ever cry, but when you do, you have got that pouty lip down! You actually get us a good wind-up before a meltdown so we have time to get to you.

One funny thing about you: Trenton calls you "Cookie" I'm not entirely sure how he got Cookie from Tucker, but it is really cute. He doesn't say words ending in "er" very well so that probably has to do with it. But I love it when he says "Hi Cookie!" or "It's okay, Cookie" :)

You are also a fist chewer. We are hoping you don't ever discover your thumb and turn into a thumb sucker though. So just keep those hands closed, buddy. Another silly thing you do is lick me when you aren't completely interested in nursing anymore. You just look up at me with that big smile and your tongue out. Silly silly boy.

Christmas was also an exciting time. We celebrated Christmas a day early at our house since we needed to finish getting everything packed. You slept the whole morning actually :) But Trenton had fun opening your presents for you. We spent Christmas Eve with extended family again but you slept through that as well. When we went to GiGi and Pimpa's house on Christmas Day though, you were up laughing and talking the entire time.

You think you are such a big boy; always trying to pull yourself up. You are even trying to roll over already! You can't grow up that fast. I don't think I'm ready for you to be mobile yet.Your legs are getting really strong too. You are always wanting to stand up and look around. Pretty soon you will be big enough for the bouncer!

It's amazing what you really do let slide with the second child. Even stuff you wish you wouldn't. Even though I still don't let you look at the TV too often, you do watch it. We never let Trenton even look at the TV until he was at least 6 or 7 months old. I think with packing and moving and unpacking, we are just too tired to fight sometimes!

The biggest thing in this past month is that we moved to Nebraska! We got the house all packed up and Daddy and cousin Bryson drove right after Christmas to our new home. Then Monday you, me, and Trenton took our first flight together! Boy, was that crazy for me. Trying to juggle a toddler, a newborn, two car seats, a suitcase, and a stroller. Needless to say, I was sweating even though it was snowing! Luckily we ran into some very nice people in the Atlanta airport and on the plane. A wonderful man helped us carry Trenton's car seat onto the plane. Then the flight attendants helped me buckle the car seat in and get us all situated. The flight itself went very smoothly! You spent the majority of the flight sleeping thankfully, and Trenton did a great job too!

We are here in Nebraska now and trying to get settled into our new house and excited to see what comes next. Pretty soon you will have many older brothers!

 Our stockings!

Your brother loves you so much!

You aren't as serious as you use to be. Now you've got these silly faces and smiles all day long

 Tucker's first Christmas!

 Tucker's First Thanksgiving!

We were on our way to Omaha with all this stuff. Just the three of us.

 Daddy's Muscle Man

I love our little family so much!

This was the morning we were getting ready to fly. We had to say "See you later" to Pimpa, Gi-Gi, and Amelia. But we will see them again soon. Plus technology is amazing and we FaceTime

 Merry Christmas!

My precious sleeping baby on Christmas morning

We needed to start getting you to take a bottle since Grandma Kathy will be taking care of you while Daddy and I are at training.

We took lots of family photos this Christmas :)

You and Grandma!

And of course your Two Month photo!
